Well, it all started with one question."Mom can we get our ears pierced?" I and Brandon had talked about it several months ago when it was asked and thought that the girls needed to be a little older before we let them because of the responsibility it takes in cleaning & caring for them over the next 6 weeks. This last week approaching Kayla & Maddy's birthday they brought up the question again and this time I sat down with them and explained that if we deiced to let them there were 2 rules they would have to follow...
1. They could NOT take them out for 6 weeks
2.They would have to be responsible for cleaning them morning & night
Of course they agreed to this, so we went to the mall and I asked them one last time "now girls this is really what you want? " They assured me, "YES, we know it is going to hurt!" I laughed and shook my head, if they only knew! As the lady was preparing the earrings, I got my camera ready to record the experience. "Ok, I'm going to count to 3, ready?" "1...2...CLICK!" '
Surprisingly the girls were so brave. Madison however you will see in the video had this expression of..."I hate this lady!" But held off the tears until we were picking out a set of ears for after the 6 week period. I then took the girls to the play land at the mall and they forgot all about the stinging of their ears. But several times this last week they have asked.."has it been 6 weeks yet?" I have a feeling I will be asked that all the way up to 6 weeks :) But I have to hand it to Kayla & Maddy for showing great responsibility in cleaning their ears every morning & night, they have not missed a day.

I was 8 when I got my ears pierced. The earring jammed in the machine on my left ear and got stuck on my ear! The lady who pierced it kept joking that I would just have to wear the machine as my earring. Ha, not funny. It took a few minutes but she got it off and everything was ok.
Wow!! What super brave girlies! I am so amazed how fast that lady got in there for the second ear. Did she use two machines? Like lightening she swooped in there before they could run from the store. Smart lady.
I love, love the look on Maddy's face. Classic! But I am so glad to see the cute smile at the end.
Savannah is now begging to get hers done. But, I think she will scream!
OwWWE. I got my ears pierced when I turned 5 also. That was my grandmas b day present. She had me so upset that it was going to hurt so bad that I threw up in the car on the way there. I think there were 2 ladys with the guns and they did them at the same time.
Julia has been asking to get hers done. But Paul says she needs to wait until she is at least 8. I'm still trying to talk him into it. (maybe I'll just have grandma Whitehead take her out for her b day and get it done.)
I wish now I would have done it when they were infants. Our peditrician does it in Middleburg. It would have been alot less hassel.
All Walker children will be waiting until they are 12!!!
